Suspended cricketers Mendis, Danushka and Dickwella to play cricket in US? 15.Aug.2021
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has unofficially learned that the three cricket players who were recently banned from cricket for a year for breach of discipline are preparing to go to play cricket in the United States, a senior official of Sri Lanka Cricket said.
Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathikala and Niroshan Dickwella are scheduled to leave for the United States and will be co-ordinated by a Sri Lankan cricketer who is currently in the United States, the official said.
Sri Lanka Cricket banned the three players for one year and also imposed a fine of Rs.10 million on them for breaching COVID-19 protocols on the tour of UK last month.
Meanwhile, the fine of Rs. 30 million imposed on the three players has not been paid so far. The official said however that the fine can be recovered from the money owed to them by the SLC.
